From Baby to Toddler

Phew. That was quite a change. Going from baby to toddler takes a lot of work! I'm one year old now, and boy have the responsibilities increased. Now I have to feed myself, hold my own sippy-cup, I even have to crawl everywhere I want to go! It's all good though :-). I'm enjoying the freedom, and it's a lot of fun to play with Mom and Dad. Dad likes to chase me and tackle me when I'm crawling really fast. I usually get a good belly laugh out of the deal :-)

What do you say we dive into the birthday?! On my actual birthday, the day started just right with PRESENTS. I got a sweet new fire truck and a very useful wagon/stroller umbrella. Afterwards, Mom and Dad took me up Estes Park. I got a caramel-toffy apple that was to-die-for. Later that evening, we went to Island Burgers where I had my FIRST kids meal. I enjoyed some delicious chicken tenders with applesauce, carrots, and a lemonade. That night, we went back home where Mom made a special cupcake just for me. You can see how enjoyable the cupcake was...

The following Saturday, we had my official birthday PARTY! It was really cool seeing all my friends and (ahem...crazy) family there. Dad grilled up some tasty hamburgers and chicken sausages. The patties were well seasoned and cooked a perfect Medium (my Dad made me say that last bit). Mom did a fantastic job organizing the event and taking care of everyone. Nana made a huge lemon and chocolate cake. It was fabulous and everybody enjoyed a slice. After the guests were full, everyone sat around me and watched me open MORE presents. We all had a great time and I'm so grateful to know so many wonderful people...no mater how crazy they might be :-)

I really like this Birthday thing. I'm definitely going to do this again next year!
